Lifting Hands: December 6, 2009

I pray that You would give the gifts of wisdom, discernment, and revelation to ______________________. Help him/her to trust You with all his/her heart, not depending on his/her own understanding, but acknowledging You in all his/her ways so that he/she may hear Your clear direction as to which path to take (Proverbs 3:5).

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5

The idea behind the blog

After reading Stormie Omartian's books (Power of a Praying Wife & Power of a Praying Parent), the Lord stirred in me a desire to share this burden of prayer for my children with other moms.

It is my hope this blog can become a place where you can come and say a prayer for your children (old or young).

A short prayer will be posted each Sunday which will lead us in prayer for the week concerning our children.

Feel free to leave comments as to how God is working in your life and the lives of your children.

I encourage you (and I will be doing it alongside you) to use a notebook to keep track of the weekly prayers - a prayer journal - where you can add more personalized prayers for your family and keep track of answered prayers.

Most prayers will be followed by Bible verses because "If we declare the Word of God in our prayers, then we wield a powerful weapon against which no enemy can prevail." (S.O.)

I hope this site will bless you and, more importantly, your children.
