Lifting Hands: Week of July 19, 2009

July - Praying through our child(ren)'s room(s).

Lord, I pray that nothing will come into this room that is not brought by You. If there is anything here that shouldn't be, show me so it can be taken out. I pray that You, Lord, will make this room a holy place, sanctified for Your glory.

"Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God." 2 Corinthians 7:1

The idea behind the blog

After reading Stormie Omartian's books (Power of a Praying Wife & Power of a Praying Parent), the Lord stirred in me a desire to share this burden of prayer for my children with other moms.

It is my hope this blog can become a place where you can come and say a prayer for your children (old or young).

A short prayer will be posted each Sunday which will lead us in prayer for the week concerning our children.

Feel free to leave comments as to how God is working in your life and the lives of your children.

I encourage you (and I will be doing it alongside you) to use a notebook to keep track of the weekly prayers - a prayer journal - where you can add more personalized prayers for your family and keep track of answered prayers.

Most prayers will be followed by Bible verses because "If we declare the Word of God in our prayers, then we wield a powerful weapon against which no enemy can prevail." (S.O.)

I hope this site will bless you and, more importantly, your children.
