Lifting Hands: Week of June 7, 2009

I pray that You will fill _____________ with a love for You that surpasses his/her love for anything or anyone else.

"Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation." Psalm 24:3-5

The idea behind the blog

After reading Stormie Omartian's books (Power of a Praying Wife & Power of a Praying Parent), the Lord stirred in me a desire to share this burden of prayer for my children with other moms.

It is my hope this blog can become a place where you can come and say a prayer for your children (old or young).

A short prayer will be posted each Sunday which will lead us in prayer for the week concerning our children.

Feel free to leave comments as to how God is working in your life and the lives of your children.

I encourage you (and I will be doing it alongside you) to use a notebook to keep track of the weekly prayers - a prayer journal - where you can add more personalized prayers for your family and keep track of answered prayers.

Most prayers will be followed by Bible verses because "If we declare the Word of God in our prayers, then we wield a powerful weapon against which no enemy can prevail." (S.O.)

I hope this site will bless you and, more importantly, your children.
